The Ultimate MixTape – Best 80s Music (Ol’ School Edition)

Anyone under 25 would probably call this the Ultimate Playlist, but I’m about a decade beyond that and therefore the MixTape it is.

hypo1

I went by the blank CD rule of having to fit everything in a time limit of less than 78 minutes, which resulted in some tough cuts, especially once I was about 10 minutes over and had to kill off the last couple tracks.

I spent literally seconds on the track order here, and kept myself to a hard limit of 1 track per artist for the decade. Perhaps if you aren’t much of a hip hop head some tracks may not be your cup of tea, but if you have “broad tastes” I really think there is something for everyone here.

No cuts here, this wasn’t my really my era as I was 16 when it ended and still coming to terms with what I did and did not really like.

The Final List

Not in order, and I’m chickening out and not picking an outright “winner”. I did fudge a little but there was no way “Kashmir” was going.

About OGR

While I try to throw a joke or two into proceedings when I can all of the opinions presented in my reviews are genuine. I don't expect that all will agree with my thoughts at all times nor would it be any fun if you did, so don't be shy in telling me where you think I went wrong... and hopefully if you think I got it right for once. Don't be shy, half the fun is in the conversation after the movie.
